Please find below correspondence back in July 2009 between myself and Dave Robson re Air Quality Monitoring:

Neil
Unfortunately while the Air Quality Monitoring Station has been on site since November, it broke down during the relocation/ recommissioning. This fault was fixed but there was a long delay in getting the parts replaced. It now appears that a different part has gone wrong. We are currently in discussion with our supplier over what repairs/ parts are required.
Because of the problems with the AQMS, a newly acquired dust monitor has been co-located since the beginning of July. We are planning on downloading this monitor on a monthly basis and will of course publish the results when we get them.

Thanks for the update
I wanted to know if the equipment had been installed and if so, for how long it had been up and running.
It doesn't sound like its been operating breakdown free for very long - could you advise how long its been located?
When is the new unit being installed/co-located?
At what point do you anticipate having any readings for analysis?
Regards

Neil
Thank you for the email.
As mentioned before we have relocated an Air Quality Monitoring Station to measure PM10 at Brow of the Hill, Leziate. Unfortunately since it was relocated we have suffered from several breakdowns, including returning the analyser to the supplier and waiting for spare parts from the USA.
To ensure that we are collecting data as agreed I have arranged for a newly purchased Dust Monitor to be co-located. This machine will also measure PM10 levels. We do not have any monitoring results at present, but when we have collected data I will be happy to let you have a copy of the results. An Officer visited the site on Monday to check that the monitor was operating correctly and noted that the PM10 level at that time was around 20 um/m3 against the national air quality standard of 40 um/m3 .
Do you have any specific queries that you would like to discuss?
Regards
Dave

Hi Dave
Could you please provide me with an update as to what happened recently with the air quality testing at WBB Minerals / Sibelco UK?
I have heard nothing since about November last year
Thanks
